People have lived on the Isle of Raasay for over 10,000 years. Archaeological surveys conducted by the Association for Certificated Field Archaeologists from 1995 to 2009 identified nearly 2100 features built and used by people over this long period of time. These sites include rockshelters, houses, enclosures, cairns, and sheilings.
